Tesla Bot Bombshells From Elon Musk & Lex Fridman podcast as follows: 1. Tesla bot in the home, not just factories?“I think the possibilities are endless [long pause]”. 2. Tesla bot isn’t in Tesla’s primary mission of accelerating sustainable energy but it is an extremely useful thing Tesla can do for the world — making a useful humanoid robot capable of interacting with the world and helping in many different ways. 3. In the future, work will become optional (Subtext: useful humanoid robots will replace the necessity for human labor, first with “dangerous, boring & repetitive jobs” but ultimately all jobs, not just jobs people don’t want to do). 4. UBI will be necessary. 5. Will there be 100,000,000s of Tesla robots in the future? Elon says YES. 6. Will there ever be a time when there are more Tesla bots than Tesla cars? “Yeah”. 7. Tesla AGI roadmap. 8. Necessary ingredients for intelligent humanoid robot are: 1) Epic real world AI 2) Be amazing at manufacturing 9. Tesla bot as a companion? “It could be a very good companion & develop a unique personality over time”. Its personality could evolve to match the human friend. 10. Elon was very uncomfortable calling humans the robot’s “owner”. 11. Flawed humanoid robots (C3PO, R2D2 etc) can be endearing and relatable. 12. Tesla bot prototype in late 2022, probably.
