ell in theory Nodejs is faster and there are more javascript libraries around. My experience is that Django/Flask is much faster to get up from the ground as a single dev or with small team. Python syntax is easier and there is a standard lib in the language covering ground of several hundred npm packages(or are we supposed to use yarn now…) , but more important reason for a speed difference is how javascript community operates. Every time someone gets a new feature idea in front-end framework, build tool or database connectivity new tool is made. These libraries and born in incredible speed but they also get abandon often. This mean you have to constantly rewrite stuff that doesn’t need to be written again. It also means that there is often 5–10 libraries to do the same thing and you spend huge amount of unnecessary time trying to figure what you need to use.
