Visit the Crazy Horse Memorial, a massive monument to American Indian history being carved out of a mountain and learn of its construction through the videos and construction museum.
Personal Notes
Chief Henry Standing Bear decided the American Indian needed a great monument, approached sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski (Polish orphan from Boston) who, after fighting in WWII, accepted, started in 1948 from complete wilderness, began carving the mountain with hand tools, married a volunteer and with her had 10 children, raised a dynasty to work on shaping the mountain.
